Consult for the
firms nobody else
is consulting for.

FBC recruits twice a year. We're looking for curious, rigorous, low-ego students who want to do real work for real companies, and who'd rather build a deck a CEO will use than one that just earns a grade.

All majors welcome ~10 new consultants per semester

— Who we recruit

We don't care what you've studied. We care how you think.

FBC has consultants from finance, marketing, design, philosophy, psychology, economics, engineering, history, music, etc. The thread between them isn't a major. It's the genuine care for someone else's business, the ownership to see the work through, and the discipline to do the research a real recommendation requires.

If you're worried you're "not a business person enough," apply anyway. Half our strongest consultants thought that the year they applied.

  • Any major, any year
Open to all Northeastern undergrads. Most consultants apply in their second or third year.
  • Rigorous, low-ego
We look for people who'd rather be useful than impressive. Sweating the details counts double.
  • Curious about real businesses
No prior consulting experience required. Caring about how things actually run is required.

— FAQ

Recruitment questions.

No. We deliberately recruit across majors and pair people with complementary skills on every team. Strong applicants from non-business majors include design, CS, biology, and the humanities.
A resume plus 2–3 short essay responses (~200 words each) on why FBC, why consulting, and why family business.
Only applicants to our senior consultant position get a case. Applicants to our junior consultant position don't. We highly recommend coming to our case interview prep night, and we'll post a short prep guide in the Slack. No MBB-style frameworks required; we're looking for structured thinking, common sense, and good questions.
Yes. We staff with co-op rotation in mind, and many of our consultants apply right before a co-op. Just flag it in your application.
We recruit in both fall and spring semesters. Join the Slack and we'll post when applications reopen.
